Overview
The Brown Hill Hall was officially opened on the 2nd December 1966 by the then Mayor of Ballarat CR. L. Kennedy, and remains a venue well utilised by the local community.
Regular users of the hall include South East Australian Taekwondo, JGKR Karate, El Dorado Line Dancing, Ballarat Rockers, Let’s Dance, Aging Well Classes, Brown Hill Elderly Citizens, Senior Fitness Classes. The hall is also suitable for private functions such as birthday parties, weddings, reunions, workshops, meetings, exhibitions, fairs, exercise and meditation sessions and religious ceremonies and services.
The venue features a large function hall with ceiling fans and reverse cycle heating. The two meeting rooms can be converted to one larger space through the opening of concertina doors or can remain separate and private through the drawing of blinds. The smaller meeting room, 1, is carpeted and has a servery attached to the kitchen. Meeting room 2 has a wooden floor and has two doors which open into the hall.
The kitchen includes a pie warmer, a microwave, urn, stove/oven, fridge, crockery, cutlery. Men's and women’s toilet blocks are located inside the hall along with one disabled toilet. A full length mirror is located in the women’s block.
