City of Ballarat is a participant in the State Government’s electric scooter trial program. The e-scooters provide a safe, fun, and environmentally friendly way to see our beautiful city.

The Public Place CCTV camera program helps Victoria Police to respond to incidents in the CBD. The program aims to provide a safer environment and improve perceptions of safety by deterring potential offenders and helping police with crime detection.

The CitySafe Taxi Rank provides a safe taxi pickup location close to the entertainment precinct with two security guards, good lighting and CCTV coverage. The CitySafe Taxi rank service is funded by the City of Ballarat and supported by Victoria Police.Location: Corner of Sturt and Lydiard Streets Operating Hours: Saturday and Sunday mornings from 1am – 5am It is also in operation on some public holidays and for some local events.
