Ballarat Youth Awards livestream ceremony only a week away
The 2021 Ballarat Youth Awards Ceremony will be livestreamed on 26 November highlighting the achievements, stories of compassion and leadership demonstrated by our young people.
The event will be an online only livestream for the second year in a row due to the uncertainty of COVID restrictions in planning events over recent months.
Showcasing the talented young people of Ballarat, the livestream will include original music performances from up-and-coming Ballarat artists and will be hosted by entertainer and comedian Ethan Cavanagh.
The 2021 Ballarat Youth Awards have been organised and conducted by The City of Ballarat Youth Services Volunteer Committee T.E.A.M (Together Enhancing the Achievements of Many).
The 16th Annual Ballarat Youth Awards celebrate recent achievements and accomplishment of young people in the Ballarat community.
These prestigious awards aim to recognise the valuable contributions that young people are making in our community today.
More than 100 people aged 12-25 living, working and/or attending school in Ballarat have been nominated for an award across 11 categories.
The virtual awards ceremony will celebrate category award winners and feature exclusive interviews with the Youth Awards ambassadors, including Indya Hayes’ inspirational journey with The Minority Co.
Each category award winner will later be invited to a civic reception to be formally recognised and celebrated with the mayor.
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Daniel Moloney said he cannot wait to watch the livestream and see the hard work of the young volunteers come together.
“I am incredibly proud of the T.E.A.M volunteers of Ballarat Youth Services,” he said.
“It’s been a tough time for anyone organising an event these past 12 months but not only have these young volunteers managed to bring in more nominations for these awards than any other year, they have now pulled together an exciting live event for the whole city to enjoy safely.
“These awards are so important to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our young residents.
“These smart, creative and organised young folk will be the next leaders of Ballarat and I can already see that our future is in safe hands.”
The City of Ballarat thanks the Western Bulldogs Football Club, Bendigo Community Bank Buninyong, and other award sponsors for helping bring the awards to life.
