VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL SERVICE - Sunday 14 August 2022
A commemorative service will be held on Sunday 14 August at 11am at the Southeast Asian War Memorial (corner of Sturt and Dawson Streets).
At 10.30am Vietnam veterans will march eastbound down Sturt Street to Dawson Street.
The formal service will commence at the memorial at 11am.
The service is expected to conclude by noon.
Traffic information:
From 6.30am the 500 block of Sturt Street (btw Dawson St and Lyons St) will be closed to traffic in both directions.
Westbound traffic on Sturt St will be diverted into Dawson St Sth to re-join Sturt St via Lyons St Sth.
Eastbound traffic on Sturt St will be diverted into Lyons St Nth to re-join Sturt Street via Dawson St Sth.
Dawson St will be closed to through traffic at the Sturt Street intersection.
PTV bus stops in the 500 block of Sturt Street will be closed between 6.30am and 3pm, please access the next nearest bus stop convenient to you.
Pedestrian access to shops and services is always available during these altered traffic conditions.
Speed restrictions and some short delays are expected; therefore, all road users are reminded to approach the area with caution and follow the direction of traffic marshals.

NAMING PROPOSALS - OPEN FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
The City of Ballarat has prepared the following proposals to name roads within the Municipality. The proposed names are in bold italics.
NP 237 - Name an unnamed road in Glendaruel – Nyaninyuk Road
Details of the proposal may be obtained from Council’s Customer Service Centre, 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat Central, or via the City of Ballarat Website at mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au. Submissions regarding this proposal must be received be addressed to the Manager Revenue and Procurement Services at Reply Paid 655 BALLARAT VIC 3353 or by emailing info@ballarat.vic.gov.au, no later than 5.00 pm on Friday, 19 August. All submissions must be in writing.

HAVE YOUR SAY ON MYSAY – HELP SHAPE BALLARAT’S NET ZERO EMISSIONS
Are you passionate about creating an environmentally sustainable future?
Throughout August, you can have your say on the City of Ballarat’s Draft Ballarat Net Zero Emissions Plan for the municipality.
The draft plan features an aspirational target of reaching net zero emissions by 2030 and identifies five key areas of action including business, homes, new developments, transport, and waste.
The community can have its say on the plan’s actions, identify any gaps, suggest additional programs or actions, provide general feedback and outline what assistance is required to help individuals, groups and businesses reach net zero emissions by 2030.
An online consultation will be available on mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au until 28 August.
