Ballarat Major Events Precinct Reference Group (Mars Stadium Precinct)
Community Representative
The City of Ballarat is responsible for the strategic directions and development of the various facilities that make up the for the Ballarat Major Events Precinct (BMEP) Reference Group
The reference group comprises representatives of the various user groups and is seeking interest from TWO independent community members. The group will be Chaired by the Mayor of the day and shall provide a forum for collaboration and consideration of how these facilities can be developed and utilised for the benefits of all stakeholders and the Ballarat community more broadly
The City of Ballarat is currently seeking expressions of interest from community members who are able to meet the following criteria.
Community members will be selected on merit and expertise and appointed as individuals and not as representatives of a group or organisation. The selection will be based on demonstrated skills and experience in the following areas;

Professional and/or community engagement experience;

Proven ability to work cooperatively in advisory groups or selection panels.
The purpose of the group will be to
-
Collaborate between all user groups and local residents;

Provide a consultative forum to support event planning and event activation that encourages information sharing across all user groups and stakeholders in a timely manner;

Enable a consultative forum to discuss matters to improve events conducted within the BMEP; and
-
Advocate for future development of the BMEP in the interests of the local community.

Notice of Intention to exchange land
The City of Ballarat hereby gives notice under Section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to exchange part of road known as Nerrina Road, Nerrina, as shown in the marked areas on the plan below. Ballarat City Council at its meeting held on 27 January 2021 resolved to authorise the exchange of the land to be administered by private treaty at no consideration to the adjoining property owner.
