Planning for Ballarat's future CBD
The City of Ballarat is examining how the Ballarat CBD will undergo urban renewal and is asking the community for its input on how new development can contribute to a thriving and revitalised CBD.
The Urban Design Framework (UDF) and Skyline and Views Study builds on existing strategic work including the Ballarat Strategy 2040 which identifies actions for achieving a greener, vibrant and connected city. It is also informed by the Ballarat CBD Strategy and the Bakery Hill and Bridge Mall Precinct Urban Renewal Plan.
The CBD Urban Design Framework and Skyline and Views Study will help inform principles and guidelines for future development in the CBD while protecting the important heritage and landscape characteristics of Ballarat.
The CBD Urban Design Framework and Skyline and Views Study are available on Council’s mysay site .
Members of the community are invited to complete the mysay survey and make a submission on the future design of the CBD. The consultation period will run until Friday 9 April 2021.
