NOTICE OF THE PREPARATION OF AN AMENDMENT

BALLARAT PLANNING SCHEME
Amendment C225ball
The City of Ballarat has prepared Amendment C225ball to the Ballarat Planning Scheme.
The amendment applies to four parcels of land in the Woodmans Hill Gateway area (Brown Hill).
Amendment C225ball proposes to rezone approx. 11.9 hectares of land from the Rural Living Zone to the Commercial 2 Zone to facilitate development in accordance with the Woodmans Hill Gateway Master Plan (2015).
You may inspect the amendment, any documents that support the amendment and the explanatory report about the amendment free of charge, and get information about how to discuss the amendment with Council staff, at the following locations:
· The City of Ballarat website www.ballarat.vic.gov.au
· Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website www.delwp.vic.gov.au/public-inspection.
Any person who may be affected by the amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.
Name and contact details of submitters are required for council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.
The closing date for submissions is 2 Aug 2021. A submission must be sent to City of Ballarat, PO Box 655, Ballarat VIC 3350, or via email to strategicplanningsubmissions@ballarat.vic.gov.au.
The planning authority must make every submission available to view on its website for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation.
Budget 2021-22 and Revenue and Rating Plan adopted
Notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on Wednesday 23 June 2021 the City of Ballarat Council adopted its Budget for the financial period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 and its Revenue and Rating Plan 2021 -2025. Copies of the Budget and Revenue and Rating Plan may be accessed on Council’s website.
Free ‘Sleep and Settling Information sessions’ for parents
City of Ballarat Maternal and Child Health (MCH) have launched free, community-based ‘Sleep and Settling Information sessions’ on child behaviour and sleep patterns for families in early parenting,.
Group sessions are being offered from Lucas Community Hub for parents of 6 –12 month and 18 – 24 - month age groups. The sessions will cover child development and typical child sleep patterns with strategies to encourage healthy sleep habits.
Bookings are essential via City of Ballarat website.
No referral applies.
