VIETNAM VETERANS COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE
A commemorative service will be held on Sunday 11 August at 11am at the Southeast Asian Memorial (corner of Sturt Street and Dawson Street). At 10.30am Vietnam Veterans will march from Lyons Street eastbound along Sturt Street to the Dawson Street intersection, where the formal service will commence at the memorial site at 11am. The service is expected to conclude by noon.
Traffic information:
For the safety of participants and all road users, the following traffic alterations will be installed for Sturt Street:

From 6.30am the intersection of Dawson Street and Sturt Street will be closed to traffic in all directions with no through traffic. The intersection will re-open at approximately 3pm.

From 10am the 500 block of Sturt Street (between Dawson Street and Lyons Street) will be closed to traffic in both directions.

Westbound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted into Doveton Street to re-join Sturt Street via Dana Street and Lyons Street.

Eastbound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted into Lyons Street to re-join Sturt Street via Mair Street and Dawson Street.
Please note that:

PTV bus stops in the 500 block of Sturt Street will be closed between 6.30am and 3pm, please access the next nearest bus stop convenient to you.

Pedestrian access to shops and services remains available during these altered traffic conditions.

Speed restrictions and some short delays are expected; all road users are reminded to approach the area with caution and follow the direction of traffic marshals.

SOFT PLASTICS RECYCLING
The City of Ballarat is running a 12-month pilot program for kerbside soft plastics recycling.
During the pilot, residents can recycle their soft plastics by collecting them separately in City of Ballarat-supplied orange collection bags and placing them in their yellow-lid recycling bin on their kerbside collection day.

NOTICE OF ROADWORKS FOR LEARMONTH STREET
The Victorian Government is investing $1.5 million to improve traffic flow and safety on Learmonth Street, Ballarat, between Cuthberts Road and Sturt Street (Remembrance Drive). This project is being delivered by the City of Ballarat.
Improvements will be made to the Learmonth Street and Cuthberts Road intersection and Learmonth Street and Sturt Street intersection.
Works are now underway with speed and lane reductions in place. The works are expected to be completed in November.
Traffic delays are expected. The full road closure for Learmonth Street will be in place from late-August to mid-September. Motorists, particularly heavy vehicles, are encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible.
