2022 REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE – TRAFFIC INFORMATION  

Friday 11 November, Ballarat Cenotaph, Sturt Street - 10.30am to 11.30am  

The 2022 Remembrance Day Service will commence at 10:30am on Friday, 11 November at the Ballarat Cenotaph on the corner of Sturt and Lyons Streets. For the safety of participants and all road users, the following traffic alterations will be installed for Sturt Street:  

Traffic alterations between 10am to 12noon.  

  • Sturt Street eastbound will be closed between Lyons St and Dawson St from approximately 10am until 12noon. Detours in place via Mair St. 

  • Sturt Street westbound will remain open, but limited to one-lane traffic with speed limits reduced to 40km/h. 

  • Traffic will not be able to cross Sturt Street via the Lyons Street intersection in either direction.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM 

The Empowering Communities Grant Program is now open for applications until 5pm Sunday 20 November 2022.  

The Empowering Communities Grant Program has opportunities of funding between $10,000 and $100,000.  

The grants program aims to support groups and organisations to deliver projects, programs, events and activities which improve outcomes for LGBTQIA+, culturally diverse communities, women, people with disabilities, older adults, young people (12-25) and First Nations communities. Programs must relate to:  

  • Discrimination 

  • Connection  

  • Safety  

Applications will be assessed by the Empowering Communities Ballarat Grants Assessment Panel, composed of representatives of local organisations and community members. The Assessment Panel will make funding recommendations to the Department of Justice and Community Safety for final approval.   

Following approval grant program funding will be distributed by the City of Ballarat on behalf of the Empowering Communities Action Group and the Department of Justice and Community Safety.   

Who can apply?  

Local, not-for-profit incorporated organisations, groups or associations can apply for Empowering Communities Grants.  

Non-incorporated groups may also apply if they have an auspice relationship with an incorporated group.  

We recommend submitting your application during business hours in case you need any help or support.
