BALLARAT REGIONAL SOCCER FACILITY ADVISORY BOARD: COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE
The City of Ballarat is responsible for the management and ongoing governance and strategic direction for the Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility.
An advisory Board comprising representatives of the user groups and independent community members and chaired by a Councillor oversees the direction and future opportunities and plans for the facility.
The City of Ballarat is currently seeking expressions of interest from persons who would be able to provide independent advice to the advisory board with expertise across governance, sporting administration, marketing, strategic planning or business would be highly regarded.
The key responsibilities of the committee are to assist Council in the long-term use, development and planning of the precinct including:

facility development and forward planning,
-
sourcing of appropriate funding to achieve facility development and improvement,
-
asset management,
-
financial sustainability,
-
partnership opportunities and
-
policy issues with respect to services.

Notice of the preparation of an amendment
The City of Ballarat has prepared Amendment C243ball to the Ballarat Planning Scheme. The amendment applies to the Bridge Mall Precinct, the areas currently identified and affected by planning overlays HO176 and DDO1 (as illustrated in the Explanatory Report to the amendment).
Amendment C243ball proposes to implement the built form (building height and setback) recommendations set out in the Bridge Mall Built Form Framework, May 2023, and the heritage guidance set out in the proposed incorporated document, Bridge Mall and Bakery Hill Statement of Significance (GJM Heritage, revised by Landmark Heritage, 2023).
You may inspect the amendment, any documents that support the amendment, and the explanatory report about the amendment, free of charge, at the following locations:

Any person who may be affected by the amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.
Name and contact details of submitters are required for council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.
The closing date for submissions is 1 March 2024. A submission must be sent to City of Ballarat, PO Box 655, Ballarat VIC 3350, or via email to: strategicplanningsubmissions@ballarat.vic.gov.au
The planning authority must make every submission available to view on its website for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation or lapses.
