TOWN HALL LIBRARY

The Central Ballarat Library redevelopment is almost complete, with the Doveton Street facility set to re-open to the public in mid-March.

The Ballarat Library at Town Hall — the temporary pop-up library that was installed at Ballarat Town Hall in November 2022 — will close on 12 March.

Following the closure of the Ballarat Library at Town Hall, there will likely be a short period in which there are no Library services available in Ballarat Central, until the Central Ballarat Library re-opens.

The Sebastopol Library and Wendouree Library will remain open as usual.

For more information, visit the Ballarat Libraries page on the City of Ballarat website.

CAT CURFEW

A cat curfew exists in Ballarat and cat owners are required to keep their cats confined to their premises between sunset and sunrise.

The curfew assists in minimising harm to the environment and wildlife and reduces annoyance to neighbours.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY

The City of Ballarat is a proud supporter of Clean Up Australia Day 2024, held on Sunday, 3 March 2024.

Residents, Community Groups or Youth Groups are encouraged to participate to help clean up your local area to remove any rubbish and contaminated waste streams from the environment.

The City of Ballarat encourages schools, youth groups and the community to take part in the great event and help Clean Up Australia.

Can you imagine the good we could do, if all of Australia came together on one day and took practical action to improve the environment? What a difference we could make! Let's see how many people we can bring together on Sunday 3 March and make a real impact.

MORGAN STREET SEBASTOPOL

Reconstruction works have commenced this week (week commencing 12 February 2024) on Morgan Street, Sebastopol. Approximately 380 metres of Morgan Street, between Crown Street and Grant Street will be widened and raised to allow for more traffic and assist in water flow to the drainage basin and decreasing flooding events.
