RECONSTRUCTION OF FINCHS ROAD
The City of Ballarat is reconstructing a section of Finchs Road, between Bells Road and Greenhalghs Road. The major upgrade will improve safety along the 1.46 kilometre section of road at Bunkers Hill and include road widening, kerbing, shoulders, sealing and minor drainage works as well as the installation of guard rail on some sections of the road. To enable the widening of the road, some trees will need to be removed. Once the reconstruction works are completed, native trees and undergrowth will be planted to improve the appearance of the stretch of road. Intermittent road closures will take place along the section of Finchs Road from Wednesday 6 November to Friday 20 December with a full road closure for major excavation works expected to take place from mid-January. The works are expected to be completed by the end of February, weather permitting. The project is being funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) program.

PET OF THE WEEK
Snoop Dogg - "I am a 4-year-old staffy mix, with brown and white colouring. I may have a tough name, but am a softy at heart, I’m easy-going, love affection and being around people. I do enjoy the company of other dogs – but can also play on my own. I have a medium energy level so would love a daily walk and play time. I’m also good with kids and would fit straight into almost any family."
To meet me please contact the Ballarat Animal Shelter on 5334 2075 or animalshelter@ballarat.vic.gov.au
