BOTANICAL GARDENS CONSERVATORY TEMPORARY CLOSURE  

The Botanical Gardens Conservatory is currently closed to visitors and will re-open for the Begonia Festival on Saturday 11th March. 

The closure is to enable the resealing and curing of the Conservatory floor as well as for the installation of the upcoming Conservatory’s display, ‘The House of a thousand Begonias’.  

THE 2023 BALLARAT BEGONIA FESTIVAL 

The 2023 Ballarat Begonia Festival will be held over the Labour Day long weekend from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 March and will feature the Power FM Begonia Parade as a vibrant inclusion to the weekend festivities. The Parade will travel along Wendouree Parade starting at the Tramways Museum and conclude adjacent to the North Gardens. 

For the safety of the public and parade participants and to reduce traffic congestion, the following road closures will apply for the duration of the Power FM Begonia Parade:  

Carlton Street (if turning left from Gillies Street or right from Crocker Street):     

8.00am to 12noon (or until safe), traffic will be able to turn left into Gillies Street from Carlton Street.  

Corner of Carlton Street and Wendouree Parade to St Aidens Drive:                     

6:30am to 12:30pm (or until safe)                                                                                  

In addition, there will be no parking available on Wendouree Parade between Nursery Drive and St Aidens Drive from 6:30am to 1pm (inclusive) on the day of the Parade.
