Planning Scheme Amendment – Consideration of Submission for Miners Rest Township Plan
The City of Ballarat’s officer recommendation was to consider the submissions received to the Planning Scheme Amendment and request that the Minister for Planning appoint an independent Planning Panel to consider the submissions.
Councillors voted in support of the recommendation and the next step in the process will be for an independent planning panel to hear all outstanding submissions.
The panel has tentatively been scheduled for May 2023.
Sustainable Subdivisions Framework
The City of Ballarat’s officer recommendation was to adopt the Sustainable Subdivisions Framework to be used in new planning applications.
The framework would provide the City of Ballarat with a consistent approach to assessing new planning applications and introduce greater clarity and guidance in elevating the sustainable standards for new subdivisions.
Councillors unanimously supported the recommendation.
All new planning applications for subdivisions affected by the Sustainable Subdivisions Framework will now be expected to align their proposals with the provisions outlined in the framework.
