Nominations open for City of Ballarat Youth Awards 2021

The City of Ballarat Youth Services T.E.A.M (Together Enhancing the Achievements of Many) Volunteer Committee are proud to announce nominations for the 2021 City of Ballarat Youth Awards open 1 June.  

The 16th Annual Youth Awards celebrate recent achievements and accomplishment of young people in the Ballarat community.  

These prestigious awards aim to recognise the valuable contributions that young people are making in our community today.  

People aged 12-25 living, working and/or attending school in Ballarat can be nominated for an award across 11 categories with a chance to receive a major award for outstanding contributions to the community.   

Award categories include Compassion and Care Award, Group Project Award, Positive Leader Award, Adult Ally, and much more. 

City of Ballarat T.E.A.M. volunteer and past nominee, Millie Collins, said young people in Ballarat are doing valuable work today that is worthy of recognition.  

“There are so many inspirational youth in Ballarat today who are doing great things and deserve to be acknowledged,” she said.  

“As a past nominee it was uplifting to be publicly celebrated through the awards, and now having the chance to encourage other young people to strive to make a difference is a real honour.”  

City of Ballarat Mayor or Cr Daniel Moloney said council is thrilled to be able to support and celebrate young and engaged members of our community.  

"Young people really are our future and we can make sure we are supporting them to make a brighter future for our city by recognising they great work they are doing today,” he said.  

“Nominating someone for the Ballarat Youth Awards are a great opportunity to show the young people in your life that their hard work is being seen and is greatly appreciated.  

“If you know a young person in Ballarat who is making a difference to our community and our city, make sure you nominate them for an award.” 

The City of Ballarat Youth Awards are an initiative of the City of Ballarat Youth Services team and are run by a committee of Ballarat youth volunteers.  

Nominations are open until 25 June and can be submitted via the website youthawards.ballarat.vic.gov.au
