Nominate now for the 2022 Ballarat Community Awards
Celebrate Ballarat’s outstanding achievers by nominating them for the 2022 City of Ballarat Community Awards.
The Ballarat Community Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of community members who have gone above and beyond in the last year to improve the lives of everyone in the region.
City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Daniel Moloney, said this last 12 months have demonstrated the resilience, creativity, and compassion of the people of Ballarat and that there are many worthy nominations out there.
“The pandemic has shown us just how caring and supportive we are as a community and there are many people who have demonstrated this recently,” he said.
“These awards are an opportunity for us all to shed light on the fantastic work people are carrying out behind the scenes to make sure our region safe, happy and healthy during these particularly difficult times.
“I encourage everyone to have a think about a particularly special event, person, or young person who has made a significant contribution to our community and nominate them for one of these prestigious awards.”
The annual awards are open in three categories:
- Ballarat Citizen of the Year
- The Citizen of the Year is someone who has made an outstanding, but often quiet, contribution to our community and region. It could be over a lifetime, or as a result of a specific event or of need. It could have covered a range of activities and interests.
Nominate someone who has inspired you, often the unsung heroes who give and give, expecting nothing in return but are making a real impact.

- Community Activity of the Year
- Our opportunities to get together and celebrate our communities, our regions, our multiculturalism, our uniqueness have been limited over the last year, but that does not mean we haven’t been celebrating. We’d love to hear about all sorts of events that have been happening to celebrate the things that make Ballarat a great place to live – be they online, in person, or a hybrid of both.
The Community Activity of the Year Award is presented to the group or person who has staged the most outstanding community activity, either small or large, between 30 October 2020 and 29 October 2021.
