Needs and Gap Analysis Report open for public input
City of Ballarat is asking for your input to ensure Council is providing the services and facilities the community needs in its Community Infrastructure Plan.
As part of the development of the Community Infrastructure Plan, Council has gathered and analysed a range of information about existing facilities and population forecasts to consider the next 10 years.
The analysis of existing facilities takes into consideration community centres, public halls, sports pavilions, aquatic facilities, libraries, early years facilities, senior citizens centres, and sports facilities.
Existing plans and strategies that take into account community infrastructure have also been studied in the analysis to recognise and acknowledge the work and contributions which has already occurred.
This research has been collated into a Draft Needs and Gap Analysis report which identifies the areas of the city where community infrastructure is needed in future planning.
Council is now seeking input from residents to ensure future planning takes into account exactly what the residents of Ballarat need for their community infrastructure.
An online community survey is now live on the City of Ballarat mySay consultation portal and will be open for all to provide feedback until 14 July.
Online and in-person information sessions will also be held in the coming weeks for anyone who would like to learn more about the report or the wider Community Infrastructure Plan.
Two online information sessions will be conducted on Monday 28 June. One session from 12pm to 1pm and another from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Please send an email to breannadoody@ballarat.vic.gov.au to register and be sent a link to the online sessions.
Two in-person sessions will be held in Central Ballarat and Sebastopol next month. One on 8 July from 6pm to 8pm at the Sebastopol Library and one on 14 July from 2pm to 4pm at Phoenix Building Foyer 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat Central.
