Mayor's Message Thursday 17 June 2021

Update from the Mayor graphic

Last week it was with some relief we were able to announce the reopening of several City of Ballarat services and facilities following the further easing of Victorian Government restrictions for regional Victoria.

Services to resume over the past few days included the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Her Majesty’s Ballarat box office, Parent Place and the Mining Exchange.

I’m sure many young Ballarat residents will particularly welcome the news they’ll still be able to see the Bluey stage production at Her Majesty’s Theatre, with the shows re-scheduled for August.

Credit and thanks to Her Majesty’s staff who’ve worked with the show’s  producers to make the change possible.

As always, this is a changing situation and facilities may be open under changed conditions, so please refer to the latest information on our website: www.ballarat.vic.gov.au/whats-open-and-whats-closed .

For information on restrictions, please check the Victorian Government coronavirus website, and for vaccinations information please visit the Ballarat health services website.

It is a wonderful thing to again be able to see more of our friends, get back to the gym, and continue to support our local restaurants and shops.

The staff at the Gallery, Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre, and other Council services able to reopen are thrilled to welcome patrons back through their doors.

I would certainly encourage everyone to take the opportunity to explore our wonderful city and, as you have over the past 18 months, get behind our local businesses who are having a tough tourism season.

I also urge everyone to make sure you are checking in everywhere you go and being kind and considerate of each other, wearing masks and keeping our distance where possible.

Ballarat Mayor Daniel Moloney
