Mayor’s Message - Friday 29 March 2024
This week I had the pleasure of launching the 2024 Heritage Festival program, at the Rare Trades Centre.
The 10-day festival will be held from 17-26 May 2024, celebrating Ballarat’s rich heritage, unique stories and vibrant creative community.
With less than two months until the 2024 festival kicks off, you can now check out the full program at www.ballaratheritagefestival.com.au and begin creating your festival itinerary.
Every year we see the Ballarat Heritage Festival celebrate the historic city’s rich cultural history and this year it is going to be particularly spectacular.
The program that has been arranged looks as brilliant as ever and I can’t wait to showcase this event that truly is unique to Ballarat.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish the Ballarat community a wonderful Easter break.
Easter is a great time to spend with family and friends, visiting the many attractions of Ballarat and surrounds.
If you are in Ballarat over Easter, why not jump online and visit Ballarat In The Know, to get inspiration about what’s on, things to see and do, and where to get some Easter treats with your friends and family over the holidays.
Wander down to our beautiful Sturt Street Gardens and enjoy the colourful life size eggs and neon installations. They make a wonderful backdrop for a family photo this long weekend.
Stay safe if travelling. Take the time, make sure you stop along the way for rest breaks – we want to see you come home safely at the end of the journey.
Be safe on our roads, look out for each other, look out for yourselves and have a wonderful Easter and long weekend.
- Mayor Cr Des Hudson
