Mayor's Message - Friday 28 April
I am proud to present the City of Ballarat’s Budget 2023/24, which I believe is financially prudent and reflects our laser-like focus on growth, renewal and the delivery of projects and services.
Throughout the development of this budget, we have been disciplined to ensure we deliver a budget that is not only financially responsible, but also balances the need for planning for the future with consolidating and finishing what we have started. I believe this budget achieves these goals.
I am particularly pleased to see a focus on everyday priorities like road maintenance, drainage, footpaths and ensuring people of all abilities can move around our community as safely and efficiently as possible.
I’d encourage all residents to read the budget and provide feedback. The Draft Budget is publicly available now and will remain so until 5pm Friday 19 May. Residents can access the draft budget at the City of Ballarat Customer Service Centre, Town Hall and via the MySay website.
The City of Ballarat will host two public sessions for the community to ask questions about the budget. These are scheduled for the following times:
Tuesday 2 May 1-2pm at Town Hall.
Tuesday 9 May 5-6pm at Town Hall.
Members of the community who provide feedback on the budget can also request to be heard at the Unscheduled Council Meeting on Wednesday 7 June at 6.30pm.
Following the public exhibition period, the Draft Budget 2023/24 will go before Councillors at the scheduled June Council Meeting.
