Mayor’s Message - Friday 27 December 2024

I hope you all had a happy, safe and festive Christmas with your special ones.  

Now we turn our attention to ringing in 2025. If you are in Ballarat with your family, or hosting friends this coming Tuesday, make sure you head to Lake Wendouree to see the amazing New Years Eve Fireworks.  

The 9.30pm time slot is a perfect opportunity to head out for dinner, grab some takeaway or enjoy an ice cream from one of our great local hospitality businesses before settling in for the show on the Lake Wendouree foreshore.  

January brings a suite of exciting community events for us all to enjoy, headlined by free live music every weekend!

Summer Sundays kicks off on Sunday, 5 January from 3pm until 7pm and runs every Sunday during the month.

It’s a great afternoon out to enjoy free live music from a varied range of artists. People can enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the Botanical Gardens and some tunes with a picnic or purchase some food from the many food vendors that will be there every Sunday afternoon.  

There is even the Garden Bar, should you fancy a local beer, wine, spirit while you enjoy the atmosphere.  

January is really a wonderful time in Ballarat, we have so many wonderful open spaces to enjoy with our friends and families and many great businesses to explore.
