Excitingly this week we’ve announced in partnership with Compost Revolution, Ballarat residents can now claim up to 40 per cent off the retail price of their compost bins, equipment, worm farms and more.

Composting is a great solution to food waste and enables people to turn their food scraps into rich soil and fertiliser for their gardens. In turn creating lush, healthy gardens for your backyard.

Did you know that food waste makes up more than 40 per cent of household waste, which adds 9,500 tonnes of food scraps that end up in landfill each year?

Food in landfill breaks down in a way that can create greenhouse gases, including methane, which affect our air quality and health. When we waste food, we also waste the resources used to grow our food and all the energy used to process, package and transport food from markets to our homes.

So why not consider composting now?

All you must do is visit compostrevolution.com.au to check out the products, place your order, and the rebate from the City of Ballarat will be automatically included, and your purchase will be delivered to your door.

Composting is a great way to sustainably deal with your food waste, and a great habit to get into in the lead up to the new FOGO system. The FOGO and household waste collection changes will come into effect at a date to be determined.
