Mayor’s Message - Friday 17 November

It is an absolute pleasure to be re-elected Mayor of the City of Ballarat for the final term of this Ballarat Council group.
Congratulations to Cr Peter Eddy for being elected Deputy Mayor of the City of Ballarat, I am excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Cr Eddy over the coming 12 months and lead our team of councillors through the important work that lies ahead for our city.
It is an exciting 12 months ahead, as we look to ensure that as a city we keep up with our rapid growth and provide the necessary fundamentals everyone in our community deserves and expects. Ballarat is growing as a city in so many ways and attracting opportunities that we can capitalise on is front of mind for me.
The past year has seen a significant city-wide transformational capital works program, which invests heavily in community infrastructure. This will of course continue and will help position Ballarat as a leading regional city and a great place to live and work for our residents.
The work Ballarat Council has done in the first three years of this term has established a clear path for the final year and I will ensure these plans are executed to their full potential.
I look forward to adopting transformational change, with the upcoming changes to kerbside waste collection and finalising the Draft Ballarat Housing Strategy, which will guide how our city grows.
It is a true honour and I am proud to lead a Council that is committed to delivering a better Ballarat for today, tomorrow and for future generations to come.
