Empowering Community grants program opens
Does your organisation, group or club have a great idea to decrease discrimination, or increase connection with the Ballarat community?
The Empowering Communities grants program is now open and ready for your application.
The project is an initiative of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, in partnership with the City of Ballarat.
The grants program aims to fund organisations and projects with key objectives to improve feelings of safety and belonging and decrease instances of crime, discrimination and anti-social behaviors.
The program is aimed towards priority groups including LGBTQIA+, culturally diverse, women, people with disabilities, young people and First Nations communities.
Groups and organisations can apply for funding amounts between $10,000 and $100,000, excluding GST.
In order to support groups and organisations to apply, a drop-in information session will be held on October 19 followed by a grant writing workshop on November 3.
The free grant writing workshop will be held on Thursday 3 November at Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, Barkly Square from 1.30pm-3pm.
The Empowering Communities grants program will be open from 13 October until 20 November.
The program aligns with the City of Ballarat’s goals to establish “a healthy, connected and inclusive community”, as outlined in the Council Plan 2021-2025.
