Doveton Crescent Works to Re-Commence
City of Ballarat contractors will re-commence works in Doveton Crescent from Monday 28 June, to complete significant improvement to the streetscape and overall amenity of the neighbourhood.
The works will provide tree protection and formalised car parking to assist residents and visitors alike. Landowners and occupiers have been advised that contractors will be back on site to complete this section of works, given the significant car parking stress experienced by residents due to the street’s proximity to both the train station and the Ballarat CBD.
The Doveton Crescent section of works was temporarily halted to allow a community consultation about the broader road shoulders works proposed in Soldiers Hill, which are no longer going ahead.
Council has agreed to an analysis of the remaining Soldiers Hill precinct (outside of Doveton Crescent) and the specific needs of each heritage street, including community consultation, prior to any future capital works considerations.
