The City of Ballarat first partnered with the Snap Send Solve reporting app in 2022 as a way for the community to notify Council of things that need fixing around the municipality.

Pleasingly, the app has been embraced by residents as their go-to method for reporting local issues, and our Customer Experience team has remained dedicated to responding to the snaps (reports) and achieved some fantastic results.

Earlier this year, the City of Ballarat was named the Snap Send Solve Solver of the Year – Customer Experience award winner for the second time.

Moving forward, we’re pleased to have expanded the Snap Send Solve service with new features now available on the app.

Squads is a function that allows users to create groups with other users through a unique code. Whether it’s your walking or bike riding group, parents’ group, school or work group, by forming a Squad in the app, everyone with a vested interest in a snap can stay informed of its progress.

The second feature enables snaps to be made public. Slightly different to Squads, the snap will be visible to a range of users in the geographic area. Whilst no private information is shared, the basic information including type, location and photo can be viewed online.

These important new features have benefits for both the community and Council staff. Not only does it enable the community to join together in a common goal to keep public spaces well maintained, but also through more effective information sharing, it reduces the number of duplicate snaps coming through to Council.

If you haven’t tried Snap Send Solve yet, I encourage you to do so. The app is free and available on Apple and Android phones.

Community members are welcome to contact the City of Ballarat Customer Experience Team on 5320 5500 if they have questions about the app and its new features, how to use it and any requests currently underway. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm.
