Connecting with each other through the Ballarat Community Directory
The City of Ballarat has launched a new online directory, the Ballarat Community Directory.
The directory provides accurate and up-to-date information on community organisations and services as well as connecting with the community to promote volunteer opportunities and events.
Individuals can find groups such as Scouts, Men’s Sheds, Rotary and more specific interests such as the Woodworkers Guild or Multiple Births Association.
The directory categorises the groups into special interests, such as:
- Community clubs and special interests
- Health services
- Disability services
- Sports
- Child Services
- Ageing Services, among others.
The platform enables community groups, organisations, not-for profit groups and essential service providers to list their information, volunteer opportunities and events for free.
When groups are registered, organisations can manage their listings to ensure accuracy and provide links to their websites and social media platforms.
City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Des Hudson said the directory has the power to bring us closer, to bridge the gaps and to create opportunities for collaboration and support.
“This one-stop-shop of community information and resources marks a significant milestone in our efforts to provide people with important local information, foster connections and strengthen the fabric of our community,” he said.
“I encourage all organisations who offer a community service or activity, to register today.
“Together, we have created something that will serve as a powerful tool for connection, support and community-building.”
