City of Ballarat welcomes Little Bridge Street funding announcement

The City of Ballarat has welcomed Wednesday’s promise from the candidate for the federal seat of Ballarat, Paula Doran that the federal Coalition will commit $165,000 toward an outreach program in Little Bridge Street should it win government at the 3 May federal election.
City of Ballarat Councillor Samantha McIntosh said the outreach program takes the form of a weekly, informal barbecue at the Little Bridge Street Bus Stop in Ballarat Central. It is run by the Ballarat Police and Citizens Youth Club with support from City of Ballarat Youth Services.
“As well as addressing concerns around antisocial behaviour at the bus stop, this model helps build connections with young people in our community and link them to services run by City of Ballarat and other youth service providers.”
“City of Ballarat’s hope is that the ALP will match this promise so that funding support for this program is guaranteed regardless of the outcome of this election.”
