The City of Ballarat is delighted to be able to announce Expressions of Interest are now open for the Circular Ballarat Champions.

Circular Ballarat Champions is an exciting new program that will support our Waste to Wellbeing project. The City of Ballarat is seeking individuals to nominate as local Circular Ballarat Champions to work with us and lead the community and businesses to develop circular principles and activities.

The Champions will collectively guide, inform, and support a range of opportunities that will be identified by the Waste to Wellbeing program, with a focus on sharing, reselling, repairing or refurbishing.

The Circular Ballarat Champions will form an enthusiastic team of ten to make a powerful contribution to the economy and environment in Ballarat for future generations.

This group will also be able to access learning opportunities, network with other like-minded people and leverage connections with existing networks.

City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Daniel Moloney said he was proud that the City of Ballarat can help to lead the community and businesses in circular economy activities.

“To be able to find opportunities to bring best practice circular economy solutions to the Ballarat community is priceless” he said.

“We are fortunate to have such fantastic community participation in Ballarat to make a powerful contribution to Ballarat’s economy and environment for future generations.

“The Champions will form an influential group to lead circular economy activities in Ballarat and help the community to find opportunities to convert waste to commodity.”
