The month of October is set to be a hive of activity in Ballarat following the release of the annual Ballarat Seniors Festival program.

A month-long celebration, the Ballarat Seniors Festival program is jam-packed with free and low-cost events and activities.

This year’s theme of ‘Explore. Engage. Evolve.’ encourages older Victorians to stay curious and connected by exploring new activities, meeting new people, and changing how we think about ageing.

There is something for everybody showcased in the program including community events and come and try sessions, the Get Connected! Seniors Expo, Victorian Seniors Festival Country Concert and opportunities to get behind the scenes and learn the secrets of some Ballarat landmarks.

Victorian Seniors Card holders can also receive a full week of completely free public transport across the state from 6-13 October.

City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Des Hudson encouraged community members aged 55+ to try some of the events and activities on offer throughout the Ballarat Seniors Festival.

“From Tai Chi to Pickleball, herbal tea tasting to author talks, a variety of music and dance offerings, and a Wadawurrung cultural tour, there is truly something for everyone at this year’s Ballarat Seniors Festival,” he said.

“These activities are a great way to connect with other like-minded people, discover the breadth of what is already happening in our community, and to get involved.”
