The Ballarat in the Future forum will provide residents with information about the State Government's Plan for Victoria and Planning Scheme Changes.

Community members are invited to attend a public forum to learn about the Victorian Government’s new Plan for Victoria, as well as other important changes to all Victorian Planning Schemes.

The community forum will present the government’s new policy direction and changes which primarily aim to meet Victoria’s housing needs. The forum will explore how these changes might impact Ballarat and will provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions.

The forum will be held on Monday 14 April at the Eureka Centre, 102 Stawell Street South, and will include:
•    A presentation on the key elements of the State Government’s Plan for Victoria
•    Discussion about changes to the Planning Scheme, including how it will affect residential growth and development in the City of Ballarat
•    A panel discussion

Residents who wish to attend the event or submit a question must do so Wednesday 9 April via the registration form. The forum will be livestreamed and made available to residents on the City of Ballarat website after the event.

City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves encouraged community members seeking to understand the State Government’s Plan for Victoria to attend the forum.

"The City of Ballarat plays an important role in interfacing with the community and delivering the State Government’s planning policy,” Cr Hargreaves said.

“That’s why it is important that the City of Ballarat plays an active role in ensuring the community is educated about changes to State Government planning policy and how it affects our local residents.”
