The following statement is in response to enquiries from The Courier regarding water levels at Lake Wendouree.

Statement attributable to City of Ballarat Director of Infrastructure and Environment, Bridget Wetherall

The Lake Wendouree water levels have risen since last week’s weather event, the water at its highest was 225mm above normal levels.

The levels at Lake Wendouree have been dropping since Sunday morning and are currently still 195mm above full levels.

There is an overflow system that drains into the nearby Gnarr Creek before the Yarrowee River.

We are working with affected Lake Wendouree users to assist them with issues relating to the water levels.
