Heritage Gap Review
The following statement is in response to enquiries from The Courier regarding the Heritage Gap Review.
Statement attributable to Director of Development and Growth, Natalie Robertson
The City of Ballarat is undertaking a Heritage Gaps Review that identifies areas and properties currently not covered by a Heritage Overlay. The review is a multi-year project.
The City of Ballarat is currently advertising for a Heritage Officer, who will primarily work on delivering the Heritage Gaps program.
A planning application has been received by the City of Ballarat’s Statutory Planning unit to assess demolition of an existing dwelling and development of seven new dwellings, on Humffray Street.
All new planning applications are reviewed by the Manager of Statutory Planning and relevant Planning Coordinator, before being allocated to a planning officer.
Applications can then be referred to internal or external authorities, while also fulfilling public notice requirements. The City of Ballarat must consider referral comments and/or public submissions in all planning decisions.
