Electrify your home Ballarat - Rebates

The City of Ballarat is leading an initiative to help you reduce your cost of living and live more comfortably in your home by transitioning off gas and upgrading to energy efficient, electric appliances.
A rebate is available* for residents who have purchased and installed any of the following items between 16 March 2025 and 16 September 2025:
- Rooftop solar
- Energy storage (batteries)
- Hot water heat pumps
- Heating and cooling
- Induction cooktop
- House shading
- Household insulation
- Home energy audit
- Electric fans and throw rugs
*This is a pilot program, rebates available until allocation is exhausted.
How to apply for your rebate
Start your claim via City of Ballarat's Rebately
- Select the product you want to claim
- Check your eligibility - Review the complete Electrify Your Home - Eligibility, Guidelines, Terms and Conditions.
- Claim your rebate
You will be asked to provide the following:
- Receipt(s) of proof of purchase(s)
- Proof of residence (rates notice or a current photo ID)
- Letter of consent from landlord (if a tenant)
- Valid concession card (for concession rebate claims)
Next Steps - If your application is approved, you will receive the rebate via electronic bank transfer. Notification will be sent via email within 30 days of approval. Please note: Applications must be submitted between 16 March 2025 and 16 September 2025.
