Lost pets
Have you lost your pet or found a stray animal?
The Ballarat Animal Shelter is taking appointments between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday for adoptions and to pick up your lost pet.
For Ballarat’s pound service (picking up your lost pet) call 5334 2075 to make an appointment to collect your pet.
If you find a lost cat or dog call the City of Ballarat’s Customer Service team on 5320 5500 to ask for help from an Animal Ranger.

We can quickly reunite you with your pet if they are registered. It is much more difficult if they are not registered. Learn about registering your animal.
Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm (we are taking appointments only between 10am and 3pm so please call 5334 2075 to book an appointment).
Saturday: Mornings (no set hours)
Sunday: Closed
If your pet has gone missing afterhours- please call 5320 5500 to lodge a missing pet report or to reclaim at the shelter.
