General Plastic Ballarat offers a clear solution
For Dale Alexander, COVID-19 has brought new challenges and opportunities in equal measure.
Message from the CEO
This year has been difficult for all of us but I am incredibly proud of the way our community has risen to the challenge. Summer is here and I am confident we will continue to make advances in the months ahead.
An appetite for local producers
Ballarat is home to an increasing number and range of food producers who are sustaining us with their home-grown produce. Whether they are selling at the farm gate, to local cafes and restaurants or at markets in non-pandemic times, our local producers are continuing to nourish us and our local food industry.
Working for our community - EHOs
When Brenda Carey became the City of Ballarat’s Environmental Health Coordinator, she had no idea she would help steer the municipality through a pandemic.
Older adults get physical
Ballarat’s older residents can head to Mt Pleasant Reserve to try out the new seniors’ exercise equipment.
Message from the CEO
Ballarat is known as a creative and innovative city. Those attributes have come to the fore during the COVID-19 pandemic with our business and tourism sectors finding ways to reinvent themselves and finding new ways to deliver their products and services.
Bringing Ballarat’s best ideas to life | ourballarat winter 2021
A new platform is being used to crowdsource positive and constructive ideas from our community to support local businesses in their COVID-19 recovery and beyond.
Supporting our tourism sector
Never before will Ballarat’s ‘visiting friends and relatives travel market’ be more relevant than when Victoria comes out of restrictions. That’s when our local residents will be encouraged to extend a lifeline to our tourism attractions in a show of solidarity and support.
Travel agency Holiday and Cruise Centre helps you dream now for travelling later
Since she began working in the travel industry, Nicole King has navigated a pilot strike, the September 11 attacks, the Bali bombings and numerous natural disasters.
Talking history at the Eureka Centre | ourballarat winter 2021
The Eureka Centre is teaching new generations right across Australia about the Eureka Stockade and stories of the women and men who risked their lives in the fight for miners’ rights. The popular program has expanded to online education, a school holiday program and an app – taking our story of the past into the future.
